Ms. Miller is a fly fisherman, an avid mystery reader, enjoys traveling and has recently become an obsessive quilt maker. She and her husband, Lee, enjoy spending as much time as possible at their beach home just above Rosarita in Baja, Mexico. There, Sharon is networked to her Long Beach office so in addition to quilting she can do legal work while enjoying the ocean view.
Ms. Miller grew up at Gunflint Lodge on the Canadian border of Minnesota. She was initially home schooled and later attended high school along with her husband, Lee, in Grand Marais, Minnesota. She attended St Olaf College, toured Europe with the St. Olaf band, and graduated with distinct honors in mathematics. She was the recipient of two teaching fellowships to the University of Illinois and the University of New Mexico. After her children left for college she attended evening law school at Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles while continuing to work full time.
Ms. Miller has two grown married children and two grandsons and a granddaughter. She and her husband devote a minimum of one day a week to their grandchildren.
