History
Ms. Miller originally worked as a paralegal for the Law Offices of John D. Miller Professional Corporation handling probate and estate matters and preparing matters for trial. She surpervised the paralegal program at California State University Long Beach. As an associate professor there, she taught classes in legal writing, legal ethics, probate and preparation of federal estate tax returns.
Ms. Miller next worked for Intex Corporation assisting the corporation president with his international estate plan in addition to overseeing his substantial real estate holdings and served as the property manager of office buildings. Following her employement with Intex, she went to law school in evenings while working for the law firm of Kahn, Stern & Blaney. There, she prepared estate plans, handled all the probate and conservatorship cases including litigation of the same. After graduation from law school, she worked as an associate attorney doing their litigation and trial work.
In 1995, Sharon Miller opened her own law office in Long Beach, California. Ms. Miller's vast legal experience has included air crash litigation, personal injury, dog bite cases, real estate controversies, wrongful termination, family law, lead poisoning cases, and bad faith medical insurance litigation. She currently has narrowed her practice to estate planning, trust administration and litigation, probate and will contests, contested and non-contested conservatorships, special needs trusts, and residential real estate.
Due to her over thirty years of experience in the probate, trust and conservatorship areas of law, Ms. Miller is frequently appointed by the Los Angeles Court supervising probate judge to serve as counsel in contested conservatorship matters. The court has also appointed her to propose solutions to the court in litigated trust matters.
Clients
Ms. Miller previously served as counsel for Farmers & Merchants Trust Company in conservatorship and trust matters. She has handled hundreds of probate and estate planning cases ranging in value from two hundred thousand dollars to over sixty million dollars.
Ms. Miller's clients are referrals from prior clients, CPA's and other professionals.
